Flickering self-illuminated surfaces

    I seem to have an issue with self-illuminated materials. I have applied them to large surfaces on the floor and ceiling of a gym for even lighting in addition to light fixtures. When I move around, the surfaces flicker. This is not a z-fighting issue as I have checked for any interference and there is none, the surfaces are far from other surfaces in the z-direction. The problem gets even worse when seeing the ceiling surface from the outside through glass into the room. Once I turn off self-illumination in the enscape materials, this behavior stops. The ceiling surface is quite large but the floor is broken up into several pieces and it happens on both. Are there limitations on self-illuminated surfaces that would cause this? Have you run into this before? I'm using Enscape 2.7.1.20866 and Rhino 6.

    Is there a chance you could please record and share a video of this behavior, either with your phone or on the machine itself? That would be very helpful for troubleshooting purposes.

    Was this thread ever solved? If so, can you share how to fix this? Im having a similar issue with self-illuminated surfaces in Sketchup

  • Have you in this case made sure that you do not have two surfaces interlapping each other? Please kindly check the corresponding areas where this happens if you can find some overlapping geometry, otherwise, is there a chance you could send us that project for troubleshooting purposes? Also, is this project perhaps located far off the initial center location in SketchUp? That is also known to cause flickering issues in geometry.

    Thank you for reporting this.


    Our developers have taken a look and filed this as a bug and will work on resolving this, Enscape interpreted these single faces incorrect.


    After exploding the object the problem was solved, you can then regroup these again and it will show up correctly.
