I was wondering whether we will be able to turn off the upcoming vegetation animations for vegetation that is inside a building.
Vegetation animation - turn off inside

For 2.8 it will first be so that there are trees that are animated (and thus primarily only come into question for outdoor areas) and the rest are still un-animated. There is therefore no setting option for each asset, but that is planned to be implemented later on.
Grass will always animated, but is complemented by a dedicated carpet material, which in turn does not move in the wind.

This would be very useful as I am trying to produce videos with shadow change and want the water within the pool to move (based on wind speed setting) but the trees seem to move very high speed.

I will gladly forward your upvote, but have you also tried simply reducing the wind intensity:
Does that help already?

This does help thanks Demian, however reduces the impact of the moving water of pools and ponds.

In this chapter we describe a procedural method of synthesizing believable motion for trees affected by a wind field. The main goal of this approach is to enable the simulation and visualization of large open environments with massive amounts of vegetation.

I agree, this is for me also what I need.
And also short grass doesn't need to be swaying since it doesn't in rela life, but if I turn this off, the trees and water also stop moving.

I understand. I'll forward your feedback, thank you two very much!

Also agree on the lawn length. Another one also is the shadow intensity. The lightest shadows are still quite dark... if there was a way to take them back a little bit more that would be great.
Really love the software BTW!

Also, any chance of creating a EXTREMELY SHORT GRASS material? I work around a lot of golf courses and the greens need a different look than SHORT GRASS....
