Can't help you but just wanted to say: That is a nice looking render! Strangely it is looking good in the mirror.
Paul Russam - Which Enscape version please? SU version might also be good to know.
Damn! what a noob mistake to make, sorry
Sketchup Pro 2020.1.235
Enscape 2.7.1 +20192
Also heres a fish to test with incase its the problem
Paul Russam - Its Friday, so I'll let it slide
It looks version related, as I cant reproduce this in a 2.8 preview version.

Ignore the black outline, that's not bad masking interpretation from Enscape, I had outlines turned all the way up. That's hopefully my Friday mistake out the way.
Could you try it against a wall, I have my fish 1mm away from the wall and I'm wondering if its a shadow of the rectangual fish geometry we're seeing

Yes that's whats happening most likely. There's a limitation for the diffuse indirect lighting calculation that does currently not consider the actual alpha mask texture. One workaround that could work: Have you tried making the fish material the backside and apply a transparent material on the frontside? Backside materials aren't considered for those rays, so that could help.
ohhhhh, sneaky
I'll try that now
Downside would be that it won't be visible in the mirror reflection either But I guess that might be more acceptable in this scenario. We're aware of that problem for a while, as other people reported similar issues when build "dirt decals" and so forth. So it's already on our agenda to improve that!
Ohh yea, that worked! ... thanks

I'll now do a better pattern/layout and get it finised
And the mirror you will fake in photoshop or something?
Nope, only us notice stuff like that, no one else does.

I'm sure there will be a few ammends but I'm now onto the next proj.
Looking awesome, great work!
hey Paul, that looks really good! Also the rest of the modelling. Did you do the whole house?
I am actually trying to find the best tool/plugin to do these kinds of VR 'walkthroughs' with pano's where people can select where to go. May I ask which one you use?
Other than the furniture which I’ve been gathering from various sources I model everything.
Since the COVID thing the interest in virtual show homes has gone nuts, we’ve gone from clients being mildly amused to having around 20 projects to do.

My compliments, that looks seriously good!

That's some really impressive work. Thanks for sharing this with us, don't hesitate to also post the link in our showcase section if you like.
Every time I think I’ve done something worthy of posting I see what others have done in Enscape and I think to myself “naaa, maybe my next one will be good enough”
