A great feature would be to have a Proxy Manager? Similar to more traditional CAD Reference / Link managers to locate, review, open and remove Proxy files. I sometimes have upto 10 different proxy models located in a master file for animation work: Interior, Enclosure, Furniture, Exterior etc. etc. And the ability to quickly view and open within the Sketchup platform would be a real asset.

That is a great request, and something which has been demanded before quite a few times - I'll furthermore upvote the feature request on our agenda and add your feedback. There is no ETA for this feature yet, but it's something we plan to implement in the future eventually.
Upvote please. Also related to this would be a way to swap back in models that were at one time turned into proxies (reverse of the right-click save as external model for enscape feature)

Can I also add that proxys are changed from wire boxes to something similar to asset library.
Some kind of silhouette. It gets soooo confusing when you have hundreds of proxys in a model.

You can paint them which doesn't influence the render at all.. or I make a component in which I put two other components on two different layers.. One is ENScape asset on layer _ENS,, the other is more sKetchup like looking on layer _SKP.. it allows me to still use simple sketchy exports from sKetchup. I sometimes need it.. sometimes not sure if we will do render.. a bit work consuming though to set it all like that
