Adding lights

  • Hello everyone!

I really love enscape but I think I get some trouble with artificial lights.
My renders looks flat and not realistic (e.g. if I made the same render with vray). If I use natural light coming from a window, the results are quite good (first image). If I use only artificial lights, the result is quite awful (second image). Could you give me some advice? I checked all the tutorials I found on the internet but, for example, adding a rectangular light it is quite difficult for me. I can not understand the method I think. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to our forum.

In the first instance, check out this great blog post which details how you can achieve great looking indoor renderings:

You may also want to schedule a dedicated 30 minute screen sharing session with us by clicking the SCHEDULE ONLINE button on the bottom of our homepage here:

Also, perhaps if you could let me know what is bothering you exactly in the second image, that would be great - from there on I can then assist you further. In general, interior renderings look especially great IF light from the outside can enter, as mentioned in the blog post. The marble texture is also not really high resolution, so that looks a bit off as well.

Further, have a look at this rendering for example: https://enscape3d.com/wp-conte…case-elnata-fernandes.jpg

He uses a bit of glossiness on the marble itself - that already can add lots of realism to the scene. Perhaps you wanna try that?

Still, overall, given that it's an enclosed space, the results are still rather realistic from such point of view and you may want to simply work a bit more on your materials as the lighting itself shouldn't be the main problem. Let me know if that doesn't help.
