I did a quick test with a transparent horizon, and the clipmap is messed up. Also, seems like it's pretty close in functionality, just need to enable the clouds/sky behind the image map.

And I would really really be grateful if the background image can use a clipmap so the skybox can be used in conjunction.
-
(It will affect the lighting though.)
So let's have a background image option that doesn't affect lighting. Please and Thank you!

I'm dealing with this at the moment on a project as well. I have a panoramic image I'd like to use as a background, but it's from non-HDR drone photos and I can't use it for IBL. I can composite a background on still images, but for the video I'm trying to do, I basically have to keep the background out of frame. If I use the image as a distant billboard - the lighting casts shadows on the billboard geometry, so that solution wasn't really working either.

You should be able to email Sketchup support and they can email you back the current license info. It worked for me when I had some licensing issues, they were reasonably responsive.

Here's my quick mockup suggestion of where a play preview button could go in the keyframe editor.
-
I think perhaps some kind of tooltip or something in the GUI that indicates the option. It's a basic and essential feature and it feels "hidden" right now.
-
Our latest Preview version (2.4.2.2657-g263c05c) released today should resolve that issue! Looking forward to your feedback!
THANK YOU!!! It is working correctly for me using dual graphic cards now. Thanks also for the new switch for adjusting total movie length, I was just thinking about this in the past day or two, and it's a very welcome feature.

Thanks for the pointer!

That would be great! +1 for some refinements to the video editor functionality.
I've been editing the .xml files in smaller sections to work around the difficulty of editing longer videos, but that gets time-consuming too because I have to renumber the keyframes, and add up the timestamp values when I combine the xml files.

I encountered the same issue, where the reflection of a treeline image did not show up in the glass. I ended up dropping in a row of tree proxies so there was some geometry to reflect, but I think the solution you're saying Thomas Willberger is to use an environment map in the sky settings?

Yes - adjusting colors in the assets would be fantastic! +1 from me.

To start with the basics - everyone should have all of Fredo6's tools. Joint Push Pull being by far the most essential, plus RoundCorner, FredoScale, CurviLoft, ToolsOnSurface, BezierSpline.
Some other basics: thomthom's Selection Toys, CleanUp, Material Replacer, UVToolkit, and Edge Tools.
TIG's Extrude Tools, Mirror, 2D Tools, Pipe Along Path
Didier Bur's Projections
Some more advanced tools that are great: Vertex Tools, Quadface Tools, SubD, Skatter, Eneroth Fractal Terrain Eroder.

Now that I'm generating my videos again, I'm finding there were other errors that were present when I rendered with the dual card setup. For example, seems like there is a simple lighting solution getting generated at the same time as the HQ setting, so I was getting simplified lighting overlaid on the high quality version. I'll set up a side-by-side video when I have a chance to demonstrate these issues. Seems like this is not a simple fix, so I'll just have to stick to single card rendering for the foreseeable future.

I've found the foliage setting works really well for a sheer curtain.
-
Oh drat! I'm running a pair of 1070's and have been experiencing this glass reflections bug. I've tried updating everything, but it seems unplugging one of the cards was the only "solution." Any near terms likelihood of getting this fixed?

i dont know, ask the video uploader, it's not enscape i think
Oh, got it, it's not your video, just an example. Yeah, there's lots of other renderers that will give you 360 video. I typically use V-Ray, but I need to use a render farm to render out video. I'd like to be able to use Enscape.
-
So, how did you do that test video? Is that rendered with Enscape or something else?
do you mean like this?
i also curious, when this feature release in enscape ?
-
andybot , with stereo format you're referring to a video which can viewed (inside VR or on a capable tv/monitor) in 3D? Similar to the functionality available for panoramas already? Also, with panorama format you're referring to a video of the likes which has been posted by mm3d.arsitektur? If it's both, let me know and I'll happily upvote the corresponding existing topics on our agenda.
Also Micha , I've happily given the stereo video feature request on our agenda a further upvote through your feedback. The panorama video topic has already been up-voted through your voice before.
Correct, I was referring to both in terms of generating video output. 360 video is my priority.

yes, precisely, 360 video. Stereo would be nice too, but for my purposes (web-based viewing of marketing walk-throughs) that is my priority.
