So... over the weekend, enscape WAS able to PLACE objects (in a different file)..
To be honest, it's not part of my workflow, but seems like a nice feature...
I'll keep an eye on it and send a report next time I run into it.

Demian,
Thanks for the efforts.... I will see if I can upload something DIRECTLY to you.. (would prefer not to do it via the website if possible.)
The GPU Update did not help...
I just looked at the same project in Enscape... Time = 10am and the scene appears black with stars...
I will also try to the same project in an earlier RELEASE version to see if it persists there.
Sent in a REPORT... but...
It would appear that both shadows are incorrect.. But they are completely different between them..
See the attachments for more assessment...
1. LAT / LONG in ArchiCAD are correct
2. North is correct in Archicad.
3. I did see the LAT / Long in Enscape were only for moving the clouds around the sky...
So... for a long time now, I've been setting up VIEWS in ARCHICAD with the proper camera settings including TIME OF DAY. These views would then transfer over to ENSCAPE by merely using the CAMERA TRACKING button...
My process then was to change views in ArchiCAD, then SAVE IMAGE from Enscape and all was well.
NOTE: if I transfer those views to native enscape VIEWS and use the BATCH SAVE, it takes upwards of 30min for 10 to 12 views.
While in archiCAD even having to call up each new view... it takes less than 5min to save that same batch...
(but that's a different discussion)...
So NOW... (and this could be with the latest set of PREVIEW installs).... the SUN does NOT track from ArchiCAD to enscape...
I am guessing the issue is actually the LATITUDE / LONGITUDE not matching my ArchiCAD model...
I see that there are "adjustments" for the LAT / LONG in Enscape, but they are in METERS and not DEGREES
And apparently these are only adjustments to push the clouds to a different location....
So maybe some general questions..
Any help is greatly appreciated. Like I said, this seems to be NEW and could just be a PREVIEW bug...
The PICTURE object in ArchiCAD uses the PICTURE command... so technically it is NOT a material...
This has long been an issue with Enscape...
I had to HACK the object to make it use the image as a MATERIAL in order for it work (which in turn causes ArchiCAD to NOT display correctly, but I can live with that as I'll do all the visualization with Enscape.)
Demian,
I am using the latest preview, but this has been happening for the last several months (mostly on the latest preview version at the time)..
I'm trying to upload an .mp4 here... If it doesn't make it, I'll try and PM you.. EnscapeFAVORITES.mp4
Just wanted to voice that while using Enscape with ArchiCAD, I was alerted to the fact that FAVORITES would "show up" in the EXE files..
But, once favorites are established for the file, I cannot DISABLE them (until after they all load)..
So I have a file that has about 12 - 15 favorites...
Even when I just want to see a little snippet of the 3d in Enscape, it will go thru the LENGTHY process of establishing the views for ALL 15 favorites before I can do anything in Enscape.
I don't fancy having to RE-Establish the favorites each time, but instead of the lag it produces EVERY TIME, I think I may have to DELETE them all when exiting enscape...
Let me know if there is a way to have enscape NOT cycle thru all the Favorites upon opening...
Also... WHITE BACKGROUND should be USER DEFINIED COLOR background to assist with GREEN SCREENING
I understand where you're going... but I kind of like the ability (as in TwinMotion) to apply a material to the ground plane and set its height relative to the model.
I have been constantly increasing the amount of CONTEXT I add to my models... partly for this reason.
Hoping they actually get the SITE MAP idea working... Tried it today and it's got a way to go before it's useful.
back and forth !
And... a lot of editing directly in the 3d window...
got it... I did just see that after sending post here...
Thanks!
Demian Gutberlet ... I did not see this specific item in the portal...
Coming up on a year later and I'm finding myself wanting this feature TODAY!
So add me as a +1....
Paul,
Thanks for chiming in... My only comment on your thinking is that it is happening to at least 3 machines in their camp.
Yes, they are the same language..
It is possible that they all use the MOUSE KEYS item... I will forward to them and see...
Again, appreciate the input..
My opinion might be biased, but I signed on with ArchiCAD in the late 80's and have not looked back.
I also used VECTORWORKS... While there is one thing I like better (spreadsheets)... there rest of the kudos go to ArchiCAD.
Agreed... there should be no reason to limit the box with...
On the other hand... I make good use of the SEARCH FILTER to limit the number viewed materials..
I wish Archicad had this ability!
