Not sure if this was suggested yet, but gym/exercise equipment.

+1 For Gym equipment - Treadmills, Ellipticals, Stair climbing, Stationary bikes, Rowing machines, weight lifting machines, etc.

With and without people might be a good idea also.

    For Hotel Resort Projects:

More Pool Deck / Pool Party/ Dance Party people - DJ with turntables

    For Restaurant Projects:

People eating dinner / with drinks.

    Bar / Lounge patrons.

    Hi There,

I'm getting a similar problem in Rhino 6. Linked files are dropping materials and/or mapping coordinates. Some materials revert to white. Other materials show up but the texture mapping is way off (mostly over-scaled) so I think it's dropping any tiling scales that I've changed.

When starting Enscape in the individual files everything seems fine.

Do all linked files need to be in the same directory as the "master" file?

Do all materials in the files need to be set to Enscape materials?

    Hi There!

I was just wondering if there are any tips/tricks to match my custom asset people to more resemble those provided by Enscape in the standard library.

Is there a certain workflow or series of filters you guys use on your textures for your people?

They have great watercolor painterly style that I'd like to try to match.

Also, are there any plans for an Enscape Asset Marketplace?

Thanks for all the great work - My subscription just renewed and I'm looking forward to all the upcoming new features!

I have installed 2.8. The fun surprise <spoiler> is that my custom assets in Vegetation category blow in the wind just like Enscape assets!

JonahHawk, could you share a little bt more about your animated custom assets? What types of source files / Animation settings did you use to get it to work with the Enscape wind settings, etc.?

Did you bring them in through the Blender workflow or 3DS max/Babylon? How long were your loop animations?

    Thanks

    +1 From Me also.

A good first step could be small looped animations of people standing and talking/gesturing.

I just tried a test using An Adobe Fuse/Mixamo person sitting and gesturing with her head and hands as if in conversation.

I then tried using Pieter's custom asset tool to import the asset (classified as vegetation) to see if it would work like the trees do.

No animation came in, but I bet it would be an easy next step for the team to pull off these simple looped movements.

Small Looped animations of people standing or sitting in place in conversation would be awesome.

Small hand gestures, Laughing, head nods. - Similar to the wind movement in the vegetation.

This would give some life without having to provide paths for people walking from point A to point B.

Also, more Poll deck type people (including children) would help with Spa, Resort, and Hotel projects.

    Thanks!

    Thanks Pieter,

Yes, I'm using the Box option for the moment and sizing i accordingly.

I'll try merging the three objects to see if that produces a different result.

Enjoy your holiday - let me know if you find anything else that might be causing the weirdness once you circle back around.

Thanks for all your effort on this app.

    Hi All,

I just wanted to chime in on the Substance mentions. I use an open source application called Materialize from Bounding Box Softwareto create all my PBR maps from one initial image. It's a great quick way to generate Normal maps, Height maps, Metal, AO, Smoothness, etc. All from an initial Diffuse map image.

There are sliders and presets for each map type and it lets you view the material right there in the viewer as you build and tweak it.

A quick google search for Materialize PBR can get you there or for those more to the hacker end of the spectrum can quickly find it on GitHub.

For those looking to save a buck in these dog days of Covid.

    Sure:

The placeholder table's dimensions should be (As listed in Max)

    X = 2.157 m

    Y = .968 m

    Z = .824 m

I've included all the related files to the asset for your convenience.

I've also included a Test Rhino file where I've inserted the table onto a surface. (It's invisible but sitting at the center of simple ground plane)

If I start Enscape it's sitting where it should be at the correct scale.

As I'm attempting several iterations to figure this out, it seems to be scale related - If a scale the OBJ in Max up to say X=88 m then the Outline becomes visible in Rhino, but vastly overscaled to the actual .gltf asset.

    Thanks for all the help.

Hi All - Now that I've got the asset manager up and running and I've created my first custom asset, I'm seeing something unexpected with the Proxy outline object.

I know that I need to use Meters for the proxy object, and I tested my first custom asset using the simple box placeholder at first.

However, when I re-created the Custom asset and used a custom OBJ object placeholder (Again - just a simple 12 poly cube from exported from Max)

    Something weird happens:

I can insert the asset no problem - Select surface - place the item.

    But nothing is displayed.

I start the Enscape viewer and the Item is rendered as I've placed it.

Then it gets weirder. - I can select the placeholder by block name or by doing a crossing or window selection where it should be displayed.

It actually shows the gumball while the invisible item is selected. I just can't see anything.

I've checked visibility settings and layer settings but can't get anything to show up in Rhino.

I've tried this in multiple files (Some started from scratch to test) with the same result.

The Box setting seems to work fine

    I'm running Rhino 6 - SR 2.8 with Enscape 2.8.0

    Asset Generator v1.3

Hi there. Yes, that's the only account I use on this computer.

Pieter Maarsso, I just solved this issue by going over to another machine of mine with my original Enscape install and found the file there. I simply copied the file over to this computer and everything seems to work fine now.

The mystery still remains why I would be missing that config file in the first place - The only thing I can think of it is that it is a second install (from the website) and I "moved" my single seat license to this mobile workstation I'm using currently.

Maarsso, Thanks for the reply. Correct. I only have the other two files in that location. The assetdates and favorites are listed as .json files. But that's all.

I have hidden files turned on in my view options also.

I use Enscape in Rhino only. So not sure if this config file would be generated for Revit or Sketchup applications? It strikes very odd that I would be missing this file.

There is a winpos.dat file in the Roaming directory.

    and a displayText.csv file in Roaming/Data/Localization

But those files are not formatted with the same syntax structure as the config file shown in the tutorial.

    Hope the above context helps.

    Hello All,

This is going to sound weird, but I can't locate the Enscape.config file to modify. Thus I can't see my custom assets. All the other steps of the tutorial have worked, but I seem to be stuck on this final step. I've done a search of my entire C: drive for anything related to Enscape.config to no avail. I'm running Rhino 6 SR2.8.

Did they move to some other configuration file type?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

People, People, and more People! Concentrate on diversity and think inclusively as that is what Architects will want to depict in their visualizations.

    Some other sub-categories:

Customer Service people - Servers, Chefs, Bartenders, Valets, Doormen, Security guards, Traffic cops, etc.

    Groups - Showing diversity

Facial Expressions - I've noticed that a lot of the models have neutral (bordering on dour) expressions. - I recently did a project for an attraction queue at a theme park. A lot of the models looked like they were in line at the bank instead. So maybe work on a range of emotion for the people.

Thanks for all the great work!

I'm having a similar issue with a simple black and white graphic signage material. I've applied the B/W jpg image as the transparency map to a single rectangular surface. The surface is rendered as completely transparent.
