I just installed SketchUp 2023 (no plugins, clan install) and reinstalled Enscape for SketchUp 2023 and now Enscape crashes EVERY time I open SketchUp 2023. Sketchup has moved to a different UI framework with 2023.1 release which has conflicted with ours. Our next release soon will fix this issue.

Because some features require hardware not available on Mac - everything related to hardware accelerated ray tracing. E.g. ray traced sun shadows, colored sun shadows, higher quality indirect illumination and reflections.

Could you please give a more detailed error message you get?

Which Windows 11 version do you have - the one built for ARM CPUs? In this case you cannot install Enscape because we don't build it for ARM on Windows.

Moreover, I suspect this configuration will not work because we only support NVidia, AMD and Intel GPUs on Windows.

When you submit feedback with logs box checked we send your logs automatically.

Alternatively you can find renderer logs in ~/User/Library/Application Support/Enscape/Data/Logs

That load error you have is weird and should not happen. But also should not influence renderer performance.

If you could PM me email that you used to submit logs I could have a look quicker
Next release is planned for the end of September. You can request trial period reset due to performance issues you have with the current version - just write an email to our support when it will be published.

Troubleshooting: let's see your logs first

There might be some hints for us in the logs. E.g. if a correct GPU was picked, and other important data.

In our experience Enscape on Mac may work slower compared to PC due to obvious hardware differences, especially on big scenes with lots of geometry. We have addressed it, so the next release will work much smoother. But: in your case even if very basic scenes are painfully slow, there may be something else.

according to our current plan new version with all* the features should appear in autumn/winter this year. Plans may change, but I'd expect at least preview versions to start getting published in a few months from now.

Pistol can't give you precise date, but next big Mac release is planned for this autumn/winter this year (plans may change). It will be a huge update with lots of features that are missing currently compared to Windows version, and native Apple Silicon support of course. Also preview versions will be published a few months before the release as usual.

Hello Ryan,

If you are talking about video export: the UI part of the video editor was not in place yet when Mac version was released. It will be included in the next Enscape for Mac release version with the full* feature parity for Windows and Mac versions.

If you are talking about exe exports, things are a bit more involved. On Windows we also have issues with unsigned binary exports when Windows complains and requires additional clicks to allow execution. MacOS is much more strict in this and will not allow execution of such a standalone at all unless user goes into system settings and explicitly adds it to exceptions. We evaluate different approaches how to workaround this problem and there is no final decision yet.

We constantly work on reflection improvements. But the greatest improvement so far we will have in the upcomping release is based on ray tracing technology, which is not directly supported by Mac hardware right now. So on Mac we are stuck with such limitations for now.

2. Add the following line to that file:

Could you also please tell me what size that ground texture has and what scene dimensions are?

That sounds like a either z-fighting or missing texture LOD. I'll try to reproduce it, but you can still try to disable async texture load to see if it helps.

In general Enscape should run on your system. How smooth depends more on your project - the best would be to download trial version and try it out directly

This looks most likely like an issue with async texture loading. Could you share this sketcup file with us?

If blue anomaly is gone - this is async texture loading bug. In such case we definitely would be glad to have sketchup file to reproduce and fix it.

Disabled async load will lead to longer loading times.

Two available light types is the limitation of current release. There will be lots of updates in the next release, however, release date is not public yet.

Regarding rect light - could you please post a screenshot so we could tell for sure?
