I am not sure if there is already a feature to accomplish this but, it would be very helpful to be able to adjust the time of day setting per SketchUp scene just by right-clicking the scene in SketchUp and clicking update after changing the TOD in Enscape. Right now, I believe the only way to set the TOD per scene is by creating a whole new scene that captures the current TOD set in that view.

    Thanks!

Problem solved. The problem was on my end - the video texture mp4 file was saved locally on my machine and not on our server.

Hi, maybe you can help with this.

I have been working on my machine at my desk and added some video textures and made some materials emissive all through the 'Enscape Materials' editor. They all work great! However, I just went to a different machine in our office and opened up the same model and all the materials I edited in the 'Enscape Materials' editor no longer show up. This leads me to believe all the editing I did on my machine is being saved locally. Is there anyway to save these materials to the project file just like you can do with presets? This way no matter what machine I open the project on, the materials will show properly?

    Thanks for your help,

    Evan

So how are you using the Asset Library?

Our firm uses it primarily for adding people and vegetation to views.

Are you using the search bar, categories or tags?

Mainly categories and then scroll through.

Do you always know exactly what you are looking for?

Yes, we look for a diverse combination of people that could fit into the category of 'sports' as we are a sports architecture firm.

Is your asset browsing more likely to be focused on a style (e.g. 'wood'), a topic (e.g. 'chair') or related to the project context (e.g. 'construction')?

    I would say project context.

Overall we would like to see more diverse people and people that could fit into the sports world of architecture. (I.E. people with generic jerseys, people with their arms up cheering - all of which could maybe have an adjustable color attached to their shirt/jersey, people in different sports equipment - football, soccer, rugby, Esports uniforms). Esports are becoming extremely popular and as we get more into Esport renderings, having people to populate the scene would be great! (I.E. people with gaming headsets on that could be placed in a chair at a computer).

I don't know what the "hangs Revit" bug is, but we have been having problems with Sketchup freezing up then crashing all together with 2.8 release. Demian originally told me two weeks for the patch, which would put the release out this Thursday (8-13).

Here is his original message from 7-30-2020:

"I'm afraid, this looks like an issue we've recently discovered and fixed today. A fix will be contained in an upcoming version very soon, there is I'm afraid no workaround available at least with the current version of 2.8 just yet."

"I cannot give you an exact release date yet for that update, but it should not take longer than a couple of weeks tops."

Hopefully it is released soon as we really need this resolved.

    Alexander,

Thanks for getting back to me. We were able to get it loaded into Enscape by turning off the RTX Ray Tracing for now.

Unfortunately, I am not able to share the model as it is confidential.

    Demian responded with this:

"I'm afraid, this looks like an issue we've recently discovered and fixed today. A fix will be contained in an upcoming version very soon, there is I'm afraid no workaround available at least with the current version of 2.8 just yet."

As you are a developer, would you be able to try and explain what the issue is/was? So we may better understand?

    Thanks for your help,

222 mb is nothing for Enscape on 2080 Ti ;) If driver update will not help, please contact our support and provide the project file if you can.

Is a 1.1GB Sketchup model too big for Enscape on a 2080 Ti? When I launch Enscape is gets to about 60% and then I notice the CPU maxes out and then crashes both Enscape and Sketchup. I did send the latest crash/log files the last time this happened.

    Thanks for the help,

    Evan

    Hi,

Could you please discuss the possibility of adding more people assets to the library that would fit into the sports world? I.E. Sports fans with generic jerseys, Esports (gamers with headsets on that you could place in a chair), people cheering with their arms up? This would be extremely helpful for sports architecture firms producing renderings of all types. (Football, soccer, rugby, Esports (gaming))

    Thanks,

    Evan

Can you give an update on this? We have 40+ 3D views saved in our Revit model. I would like to adjust the sun to the desired position and save for each view. Right now when I do the 'batch render' of all of these views they all have the same sun setting. I am working around this by going view-by-view adjusting the sun setting and rendering individually. I do not want to have to create a new view template for each of these views in Revit to get the desired effect. I am currently using version 2.5.3 because I tried out a newer version and experienced bugs so I reverted back. If being able to set the sun setting per view has been added to the newest version, I will happily try it out. Thanks!
