We are working in exchange file between Rhino and Revit. Testing Rhino inside we have noticed the none of the Enscape assets inserted in the Rhino file get properly translate in to Revit.

They all look like the Enscape low poly proxy and losses any materials.

Is there a work around for this?

Are you guys working or planning to have something working when exchanging scenes created in one CAD app and the imported on other Enscape Supported CAD app?

    Thanks

Hello, In our company we are trying to figure out a consistent workflow between our main design apps, such as Rhino, and REVIT. Most of the early designs start in Rhino and then move to REVIT for construction Drawings and BIM data.

For most of them, the design inside Rhino gets very evolved and many images are produced with Enscape, using many elements of Enscape library.

Sadly most of that work gets lost when we export the Rhino scene into REVIT, we are using Rhino inside, which doesn't translate any of Enscape library. We have a workaround for materials, we have created the same material library in both app. but assets such, as trees, and furniture need to be replaced manually.

I am Arch Viz guy and while working with 3D Max, Maya, and Cinema 4D I used to save things as V Ray proxy, which can be read in any app without losing its properties. There were some hiccups with materials but most of the work could be saved.

Is there any plan for Enscape to create a more universal Proxy asset that could not depend on the CAD app that it is using it? Is there a workflow that we are not aware of that could speed up this change in CAD software. Ideally, we would like to have a bi-directional exchange between REVIT and Rhino. It would be great to be able to send Enscape assets back a forth between REIT and Rhino without re-building.

We will research something using Grasshopper and Dynamo if you guys have some ideas I would appreciate the input.

    Hello,

I have this issue, I am trying to render a 360 stereo panorama of a small room. THe problem is the the stitching on the top and bottom is not correctly aligned.

You can see the attached image, I have tried at different resolutions, and in Thow different computers.

I was using the latest version and then tested two earlier versions, but the problem is the same.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

By "treated" I mean they're dead. Modo plugin is EOL, and Blender is not updated for more than 2 years. How well do you think ArchiCAD and Vectorworks are going to fare with V-Ray not having any integration with those platforms?

I used MODO for a while and honestly I didn't think V-Ray for MODO will last. MODO render engine is very capable and the market share compared to 3D Max or Cinema4D is very small. Also Foundry own NUKE so for their pipeline the final render will be done in NUKE not in MODO. in VFX workflow V-Ray is very strong in NUKE. I gues they did the numbers and saw that V-Ray for MODO wasn't worth the effort.

Something similar could be applied to Blender. Their real-time render and view port are way faster than V-Ray's.

Also Blender being free, there is not real incentive for Chaos group to put the effort in there.

For the main user base of ArchiCAD and Vector works, Enscape is more than capable to give them everything they need.

Honestly if you compare the speed and quality that Enscape gives you in Sketchup, compared to the new realtime option from V-Ray ( I can't remember the name) Enscape is light years a head.

In my opinion, this can be a win, win for Enscape. To me this show how much Enscape software has grown in market usage. I am Viz person and mostly use 3D Max and V-Ray Corona but I also use Enscape when possible and there is not dough, that their implementation is more efficient that V-Ray inside Rhino-Revit and other straight CAD software, Enscape works exactly how a n Architect/Designer need it to. I always thought that V-Ray was too overwhelming for them.

Again I consider my self very well versed in V-Ray-Corona and any other similar ray-tracer. But I understand that not everybody is a nerd regarding render engines.

To me Chaos group lose the battle withing Rhino-Revit and similar CAD area, and that's why as a company, they will rather have someone who know exactly what to do with those software.

V-Ray main focus right now is VFX and real-time, I am not sure how much future 'traditional' raytracing has on next gen real-time. Epic already showed how much can be done with a mix method such Lumen. So to me it make seance for this conglomerated to have specific software for each segment of their use base. V-Ray for VFX and real-time, Corona for the high mid end visualization, (3D Max) and Enscape for CAD app such, Rhino, Revit, Sketchup an others

Now having everybody under the same umbrella it does stop competition which give us better products. so we need to wait and see how thing goes.

Congratulations to Enscape team, you really nail it.

    Hello,

I have this strange issue that I haven't seen before, While rendering from Sketchup if I save the image as EXR it comes up pink. I tried to open it in Photoshop, Fusion, Nuke it always comes Pink and double like a stereo image.

I have checked all setting and still same proble. if I save the image as JPG or PNG then it look correct.

    Any ideas?

    Hello,

Our company just love Enscape, One of the main questions I get is the antialising issue while using the VR option in Enscape.

I explain my coworkers the way that Enscape is constantly processing the images to create the real time interaction, but some of them just want something to showcase at better frame rate, and this constant refinement really affect the performance in VR.

I know you can lower the quality on the render optiions, and that's what I always recommend, but then the overall quality, glow reflections and more are totally lost. Comparing the Web viewer in Enscape I think if there is a way to choose that quality to present in VR would be great.

We could still keep the constant rendering but also have the option to pre-bake the scene so optimize for VR presentations.

    What you guys think.

Thank you for this awesome software.!

Hi Vendel3D We want to provide a Material and Proxy library in the future.

I think I posted already, but a material library that could be share between different applications would be awesome!!

Our company uses many software with Enscape, and we exchange assets between apps too so it is kind of logical that we could transfer from schematic design in Sketchup or Rhino to REVIT and keep those models with Enscape materials.

This could even generate a repository website were people could share their best materials with the community.

    Hello,

I usually don't like to complain, but placing Enscape lights inside of sketchup is very frustrating. I don't understand the logic behind, why so many clicks.

For example in any other 3D app you are in a top view, parallel in the case of sketchup and using CAD drawings as reference you place all lights, then in a isometric or perspective view you can adjust high of the lights and rotate them as need it.

With Enscape you can't place light from top view only, you need to be in a 3D view, then keep things vertical or orthogonal is very hard, because even the limited to axis control do not work with this elements.

Is there a way to make this process simpler?

Thank you for otherwise a very incredible software.

We usually work with engineer partners, on a cloud based REVIT model.

As Architects we can edit and change all materials of our architectural model but we can't edit materials of a liked engineering or civil file.

The only way for us to prepare presentation images is to download the file and break the links. But the problem doing this is that creates a separate model that won't be up to date, doing this several time during the project becomes not efficient.

If there was an option to overwrite all object materials of linked files, such everything gray or any color, that would really help us. The ultimate solution would be to be able to manipulate these linked files materials but I guess that is related to Autodesk REVIT instead of Enscape by it self.

    any input would be appreciated.

    Fco.

    Hello,

I Have this issue that some object are hidden in REVIT view but they still shown on the Enscape rendered window.

I did take a look in the help docs but I could not find any specifics of what the best way to hide object to not be rendered.

Also our files are usually divided in several XRef parts, will this affect the visibility for Enscape too?

    Thanks.
